If communication, mealtimes or swallowing feel harder than they should, Humanity Allied Health’s speech pathologists are here to help. In speech therapy we work with adults on the everyday challenges that come with these areas.
If communication, mealtimes or swallowing are difficult for you, Humanity Allied Health’s speech pathologists can help. Support is practical and focused on daily life, whether that’s staying safe during meals or being understood by the people around you.
Communication and mealtimes matter for your choice and dignity, and often involve the people who support you too.
We’ll start by getting to know how you communicate day to day and how mealtimes work for you. We’ll also look at what supports you already have in place. From there, we work out together what’s going well and where extra support could help. Any goals we set will fit into your everyday life.
Swallowing difficulties can make everyday eating and drinking feel unsafe or uncomfortable. This might show up as coughing during meals, avoiding certain foods, or taking longer to eat than you used to. The right support can help reduce these risks and make mealtimes easier and more enjoyable again.
We focus on what actually works during your mealtimes, and give you clear, consistent guidance you can rely on.
Flexible, personalised care:
In clinic, mobile or online
Our Humanity Allied Health speech pathologists/speech therapists can see you or your participant at home, at school, in the community, in one of our clinics or via online sessions. We offer flexible service delivery to suit individual needs, preferences and circumstances.
If travel, logistics or personal challenges make it hard to get to a clinic, online sessions could work better for you. They can also open up support from speech pathologists who aren’t based in your area, which can be useful if local options are limited. If you’d prefer, we can travel to a location that suits you, or arrange speech therapy sessions in one of our clinics.
If you have complex communication needs, including using little or no spoken language, we’re here to support you.

Speech pathology and speech therapy mean the same thing. Speech pathologists are the clinicians who provide speech therapy. Some people use one term and some use the other, but the support is identical.
At Humanity Allied Health, our speech pathologists help adults with communication, mealtimes and swallowing. This includes AAC support, mealtime management plans and NDIS funded therapy. You can access speech therapy in clinic, at home or through online sessions, whichever suits you best.
There is no difference. Speech pathologist and speech therapist are two names for the same profession. In Australia, the official title is speech pathologist, and this is the term used by Speech Pathology Australia, the national professional body. Speech therapist is simply an older or more commonly used term for the same role.
At Humanity Allied Health, our speech pathologists support adults with communication, mealtimes and swallowing, whether you know them as speech pathologists or speech therapists.
